INFORMATION ABOUT AZITHROMYCIN 500
Azithromycin is an antibiotic belonging to the macrolide class. It works by stopping bacteria from growing, rather than killing them immediately. It’s commonly used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
How it works
Azithromycin binds to the bacterial ribosome (50S subunit).
This prevents bacteria from making essential proteins they need to grow and multiply.
As a result, the bacterial infection slows down, and your immune system can clear it.
